Giving
We have the opportunity as parents, faculty, staff, and friends of The Glen to make a true difference in the daily lives of our children and those yet to be a part of The Glen community. This project will change the way that our children experience the world. It will change their perceptions, it will enhance the quality of their education, and it will give them more joy, contentment, and engagement in the ways that are essential to their development.
Your gifts of time, talent, and resources will impact every aspect of the playground project. As a non-profit, independent school, the whole school community is essential to the continuing growth and excellence of the school's programs. Please consider how you might be able to help build a beautiful natural playground for The Glen.
There are three main ways to give to The Glen's playground project:
Gifts of Time and Talent - Volunteerism is a core part of the playground project. Consider whether or not you possess skills in planning, woodworking, construction, or landscaping. Perhaps you have a truck and have a schedule that would allow you to help pick up and deliver supplies. As we move through the steps of Phase I, we will need volunteers serving in a variety of roles.
Gifts of Financial Support - Raising the necessary funds for this project as quickly as possible is key to staying on track with the proposed timeline for Phase I. Please consider whether or not you can make a monetary contribution to the playground. Also, if your employer offers matching gifts your gift can be doubled, bringing us that much closer to the $5,000 needed for Phase I.
Gifts of Materials - If you have access to or know someone who has access to wood, mulch, soil, rocks of various sizes, and other materials found in natural playgrounds, please let us know! One of the wonderful things about a natural playground is that a tree that is being cut down in your neighborhood can be a huge help to our project. That tree could become seating in an outdoor classroom area, natural balance beams, or a great climbing structure.
If you are able to contribute in any way mentioned above, or in a way we have not yet thought of, please send an e-mail to [email protected]. Or fill out the form below and we will contact you as soon as possible. Thank you!
